Meet Oi-kun and Air-chan!
Look who's joined us at OEM Sōko... it's Oi-kun and Air-chan!
These two came along to help us with promotions. Actually they insisted that they join us so we couldn't say "no"!
So who are these two characters? They are filters. A filter separates air, water, oil, etc. from any contaminants such as dust or metal particles. Filters are usually installed in machines and vehicles. Oi-kun is an oil filter, and Air-chan is, that's right, an air filter!
Oi-kun and Air-chan were produced in a filter factory in Hyogo-ken, Japan. They were put on a shelf in an empty warehouse for many months and were forgotten by the factory staff. One night, a big thunderstorm occurred and a bolt of lightning struck the warehouse. The whole building (steel frame) was electrified, creating an energy field which rearranged ions within the warehouse to a negative state, greatly improving Oi-kun and Air-chan's wellbeing, so much so that they could now talk! Really...? Wow!
You might be wondering how they got arms and legs. Oi-kun and Air-chan refused to elaborate, although they did describe the acquisition of limbs as a "trade secret"... Additionally, although they are only about 8 years old, they are adults in "filter years"!
