What's JAF? JAF is an acronym for Japan Automobile Federation. Founded in February 1963, It is an organization whose purpose is to "help car users". JAF is engaged in a wide range of activities, including road service, preferential treatment services, and overseeing motorsports.
JAF is recognized by the FIA and issues motor sports competition licenses, recognizes competitions, and establishes various rules. Super Formula and SUPER GT are also held under the official recognition of JAF. JAF also hosts motorsport events called "Autotests," which people can participate in using their own cars.
