Genuine Decommissioned Japanese Vehicle Single Number Plate with 40mm Hole Cover (Tsukuba 581 Ii 6466)
Genuine Decommissioned Japanese Vehicle Single Number Plate with 40mm Hole Cover (Tsukuba 581 Ii 6466)
A single (front only) genuine decommissioned vehicle number plate used in Japan, with 40mm hole cover included!
This yellow version is used for light vehicles (Kei Jidousha). They were introduced in 1975 to easily distinguish them while on the road by police and also toll road booth personnel as having a lower toll fee and lower allowed maximum speed. Nowadays with electronic tolls and no difference in allowed maximum speeds on the expressways between regular passenger cars and Kei cars, Keis can use either yellow or white plates (for an extra fee).
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport & Tourism (国土交通省 Kokudo Koutsuu Shou) in Japan allows the decommissioning of car number plates since 2017. To comply with decommissioning rules, a 40mm hole must be drilled into the top left of the plate to "destroy" it (make it easily identified as decommissioned so it cannot be used on vehicles in Japan).
These plates are 100% genuine and have been used on vehicles in Japan. As such they may have slight dents, marks, scratches and dirt. Please check the photos of the products carefully before purchasing. The color of the numbers and characters is dark green. Please be aware of this when looking at the photos.
